When you start looking for Virtual Assistant training and resources to grow your business, you’ll see a lot of shiny badges flashing at you. One of the most common is the ‘CPD Certified’ logo.

For a long time, Continuing Professional Development (CPD) accreditation has been seen as the gold standard for adult learning. So, when we started building the a library of training resources here at The Admin Hive, we naturally looked into it.

But after careful consideration, we made a very conscious, deliberate decision: Our courses will not be CPD accredited!

We know that might sound surprising in an industry obsessed with certificates. But we didn’t make this choice lightly. We made it for you. Here is exactly why we skipped the accreditation and why it’s actually a massive win for your VA business.

1. We Refuse to Pass the ‘Badge Tax’ On to You

Let’s be honest here – getting a course CPD accredited isn’t free. It costs thousands of pounds in application fees, annual renewals, and administrative overheads.

Do training providers absorb that cost out of the goodness of their hearts? No. They pass it directly to the buyer by inflating the price of the course.

We refuse to do that. Our mission at The Admin Hive is to provide accessible, high-level training and resources that help VAs scale. We want your investment to go toward the value of the transformation, not a costly corporate rubber stamp. By skipping the accreditation fees, we can keep our prices fair, affordable, and highly competitive.

2. The ‘Points’ System Doesn’t Add Up

If you’ve ever done a CPD course, you know it operates on a points system. A short masterclass might give you 1 or 2 points. The reality? To maintain certain corporate memberships or professional statuses in the employment world, you need dozens of points a year!

The practical, bite-sized training and resources we’ve created (like our template kits, client onboarding workflows, and tech tutorials) are designed to be implemented in an afternoon. Trying to shoehorn these tools into a rigid corporate point system just doesn’t make sense for the way modern VAs actually learn and work.

3. You Are the Boss Now, Not an Employee

This is the most important reason of all.

CPD points exist for one primary reason: to prove to an employer or a hiring manager that you are keeping your skills sharp. It’s a tool used in corporate annual reviews to justify a promotion or make a resume look more employable when applying for a 9-to-5 job.

But you are a Virtual Assistant now –  you are your own boss!

You aren’t sending CVs to HR departments anymore. You aren’t pitching for ‘jobs’ – you are pitching for B2B contracts. Your clients are not employers; they are business partners approaching you to purchase a service.

A business owner looking to hire a VA doesn’t care if you have 4 CPD points in spreadsheet management. They care about outcomes. They care that you can clean up their inbox, manage their launch, streamline their calendar, and save them 10 hours a week. Your results are your certificate.

4. We Value Impact Over Bureaucracy

When a course goes through formal accreditation, it has to fit into a rigid, outdated framework. It forces training to become theoretical rather than practical.

We don’t want to teach you the history of project management software; we want to give you the exact template we used to run our VA businesses so you can copy, paste, and start charging clients by Monday. We choose agility and real-world results over corporate red tape.

The Verdict: Build an Empire, Not a CV

When you purchase our training, you won’t get a printable certificate to hang on your wall. But you will get the exact scripts, systems, and strategies needed to land high-paying clients, set firm boundaries, and run a profitable business.

We think that’s a pretty good trade-off.
